The Man Who Became King of the Lightweights
George "Lightweight" Kelly was born into poverty in the slums of New York City in the early 1900s. As a child, he was small and sickly, and he was often bullied by other children. But Kelly had a fighting spirit, and he refused to let the bullies get the best of him.

At the age of 15, Kelly started boxing at a local gym. He quickly showed a natural talent for the sport, and he soon began winning amateur fights. In 1922, Kelly turned professional, and he quickly rose through the ranks of the lightweight division.
Kelly was a gifted boxer, with a lightning-fast jab and a powerful right cross. He was also incredibly tough, and he could take a punch without flinching. Kelly's determination and hard work paid off, and in 1926, he won the world lightweight championship.
Kelly's reign as lightweight champion was one of the most dominant in boxing history. He defended his title 18 times, and he only lost once in his entire career. Kelly's victories made him a national hero, and he was hailed as the "King of the Lightweights."
Kelly retired from boxing in 1933, and he died in 1966. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990.
The Man Who Became King of the Lightweights is the incredible story of a man who overcame adversity to achieve his dreams. Kelly's story is an inspiration to us all, and it is a reminder that anything is possible if we set our minds to it.
