For years, the author's father and mother lived in separate countries, each desperately hoping to be reunited with their child. The author's father eventually made it to the United States, but his mother was not so lucky. She was forced to remain in Poland, where she lived under a communist regime for decades.

Despite the challenges they faced, the author's parents never gave up hope of being reunited. They wrote letters to each other every day, and they talked on the phone as often as they could. Finally, in 1989, the Berlin Wall fell and Poland became a free country. The author's mother was finally able to join her husband and son in the United States.

The author's story is a powerful and moving testament to the strength of the human spirit. It is a story of love, hope, and perseverance. It is a story that will inspire anyone who has ever been separated from their loved ones.
